Justin Trail

They say ‘the leader sets the pace,’ and Justin’s old-fashioned work ethic and know-how have set a high standard that is expected of all those at CIS. With over 16 years of practice in the insurance industry, Justin has deep experience in designing and implementing insurance programs for large schedules of real estate and a long list of satisfied clients. Justin graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in 1994 and a Masters degree in 1996. Justin is an active investor and currently sits on several boards and advisory committees.

Cheryl Morris-Pitts

Founder

Cheryl has a total of 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. She joined CIS in 2003 as a Partner and Chief Technical Officer. Before joining CIS, she dedicated 22 years to Davis-Poston & Associates Inc. as the Program Manager for their Apartment Program as well as an Accountant. Cheryl then worked for Arthur J Gallagher & Company for 3 years as a Program Manager for commercial real estate accounts and was a Supervisor over 10 Account Managers and the insurance placements on approximately $6.5 billion of real estate assets. Over the years Cheryl has obtained General Agent-Property & Casualty Licenses as well as the Surplus Lines Agent Licenses. She is currently working toward her National Apartment Association Designation of Certified Apartment Supplier. She earned the CPCU designation in 2007.

Ray Deaton
Executive VP & COO

Prior to joining CIS, Ray acquired 16 years of experience in Sales/Sales Management, Operations Management, Human Resources and Quality Assurance/Customer Satisfaction for Carl Sewell and his nationally recognized family-owned automotive company. During this period, Ray was actively involved, not only in the daily operations of each individual location, but in the strategic planning and oversight for the entire company. Ray’s successful experience with Carl Sewell and Sewell Automotive Companies led to his career move to CIS. Ray graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University in 1993. He has also attended continuing education courses at University of Virginia – Darden School of Business, SMU – Cox School of Business, and Texas A&M University – Mays Business School.
